I ended my international table tennis career with my 7th Paralympics in Peking in 2008. After 25 years of international sport, I was the oldest serving German Paralympian (and felt every bit like it). It all began 1983 in Ingolstadt, southern Germany with the European Championships.
I’m extremely thankful for all the people I met and all the cities and countries I was able to visit. As a 12 year old, I would never have dreamed how much table tennis would influence my life.
I try to keep myself fit these days by playing for my club Fortuna Bonn in a regional league.
